I had a dog called Remi in my childhood. He looked like a Karelian Bear Dog. I also had a snow white cat, Mikko.

My first pedigree dog was Zin Tip  Daisy. With her I got to know the lovely breed of  Tibetan Spaniel. Especially I loved the assertive and aristocratical personality of this breed.

Actually I found my first Malteser by mistake. I always thought that I didn’t want a long-haired dog. My auntie who lived in Helsinki had two Maltesers. She took her dogs to another room when my family visited her. There behind the door they parked as mad wild dogs.

My first Malteser, Valkohelmen Afrodite "Iida"  moved to me 1988. If breeder, Mrs. Malmström had required me to join to dogshows, I haven’t ever choosed my dog from her kennel. However she kindly supported me and gave advices to start. So I took Iida to show training and at least we joined to real shows too. And Iida loved it. Iida got her Fin Champion award quite quickly, thanks to my daughter Suna who groomed her.

I got interested in dog breeding because of  Mrs Malmström’s support and advices. Today I have bred 33 litteries of Malteses. And five litteries of Tibetan Spaniels.

For my happiness, the guality of malteser dogs in Finland has improved significantly during the last 20 years. I have also seen this happen, when I look my own bred dogs.
